Photographs largely depict packaging and point-of-sale displays with some photographs of retail spaces and trade show displays. No explanatory text accompanies the photographs. Creator of the binders is unknown; however there are photographs showing a Publicis exhibit or office display. Product types depicted include alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (beer and liqueurs), Cigarettes, cosmetics and toilet preparations including feminine hygiene, food, household appliances, non-prescription drugs and remedies, and transportation. Cosmetics company, founded in 1909 by Max Factor (1872?-1938), a Polish cosmetician. Collection contains materials that comprised the Max Factor Make-up Studio's campaign for "The New Art of Society Make-up." Includes two booklets with courtesy cards that enabled the holder to order free make-up samples appropriate for their complextion and features. A "Miss Thennis" likely used the courtesy cards, for there is a letter addressed to her regarding the products and their application, a completed make-up color harmony chart that may have accompanied the letter, as well as sample envelopes for rouge (unopened, containing a powder puff) and face powder. Also contains a product order form.

The Studio Girl Cosmetics Records include promotional materials related to the Glendale, California-based multi-level marketing and direct sales cosmetics company. This one-folder collection includes two promotional leaflets with beauty tips for customers: “Your Studio Girl Way to Loveliness,” and “Studio Girl: Hollywood Coiffure Blend Hair Fashions of Permalon.” There is also one pamphlet for potential Studio Girl sales representatives called “From a Man’s Point of View.” Other items are recruitment materials including a sales team member application, identification cards, stamped paper bags for products, and branded mailing envelopes.
