Project Child provides first-year students with an experience of extended orientation to both Duke University and the greater Durham Community. The Talent Identification Program (TIP) was established in 1980. TIP identifies gifted seventh graders, and the students then spend a summer at Duke taking courses taught by the University's faculty.
