Collection includes correspondence, trade newsletters and World War II-related publications from agencies including the War Production Board, the Offices of Defense Transportation, Price Administration, Production Management, and War Information. Trade organizations represented include the Implement Dealers Association, the Southwestern Lumbermen's Association and the National Retail Hardware Association. Acquired as part of the John W. Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising & Marketing History.

Biographical / historical:

Fred Ackarman born 1882, Sedan, Kansas. Graduated high school 1902 and entered father's hardware business. Died 1968. Ackarman Hardware & Lumber established 1883 by E.C. Ackarman.
