Series includes organizational files including from past ACLU of NC President and chair of its Legal Committee, Frank Goldsmith, in the late 1970s and those from the 2000s-2010s such as correspondence, meeting minutes, notes, collected files from the Chapel Hill-Carrboro chapter, files related to the newsletter, Liberty, collected subject files, and other assorted materials related to meetings, committee work, areas of interest, and conferences. Also included are a large number of printed materials from the chapter such as annual reports; later issues of Liberty; reports, handouts, and ephemera created by the ACLU of NC; collected publications from other North Carolina civil rights organizations; select annual reports, newsletters, and reports from other chapters collected by ACLU of NC as well as some nationwide materials; and a small selection of audiovisual materials, mainly The Freedom Files educational videos created by the ACLU. Topics include students' rights, reproductive rights, women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, incarceration, racial profiling, government and police surveillance, immigration, and civil rights more broadly.
