Scope and content:

Contains files related to the work of the ACLU of NC during the tenure of past president and chair of the Legal Committee, Frank Goldsmith in the late 1970s and later files from the chapter from the 2000s-2010s. Files from the late 1970s include Goldsmith's work in the Legal Committee, the Long Range Planning Committee, and other committee work, meeting minutes, memos, and other assorted files. Later organizational files include those collected from the Chapel Hill-Carrboro local chapter between 1994-2000; internal reports; materials such as notes and photographs used in Liberty; and subject and activity files related to the chapter's work for topics such as civil rights, torture, the Constitution, police and government surveillance, and other assorted materials.
