The Veterans Project series comprises 44 photographic portraits and 42 oral history interviews conducted by documentarian and photographer Jesse Andrews of U.S. military veterans of the Vietnam and Iraq wars, and a few who served in World War II. Each portrait is accompanied by a detailed biographical sketch created by Andrews. The oral history interviews convey in vivid detail the veterans' experiences before, during, and after their military service. The recordings are in the form of digital .mp3 audio files, and are available upon advance request.

The portrait of Vietnam War veteran Donald Wright is also accompanied by Wright's handwritten journal notebook describing events in Vietnam and after the war; a portrait of Fred Behrens is accompanied by a seven-page biographical tribute to Behrens written by the photographer, Jesse Andrews.
