Scope and content:

These seven black-and-white portraits by photographer Jesse Andrews and the four oral histories that accompany them form part of the Burlington Mills Project, which documents the lives of former employees of a Halifax, Virginia textile mill, and how they and their community have been affected by the mill's closure in 2002.

The oral history interview recordings are in the form of digital audio files and are available upon advance request.

Processing information:

Photographs are arranged in order as received. Original titles, captions, and negative identifiers as assigned by the photographer have been retained. Each print has also been assigned an institutional identifier.
