Chiefly consists of files documenting abuses perpetrated by Contras and Sandinista government forces throughout the Contra War and continued violence and civil unrest related to land rights under the subsequent government of Violeta Chamorro, often involving demobilized combatants. Materials include: excerpts of FBIS reports; original and photocopied newspaper clippings; reports and other documents prepared by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the ComisiĆ³n Permanente de Derechos Humanos, and other Nicaraguan and international human rights monitors; and US congressional communications.
