Scope and content:

Includes drafts (sometimes annotated), contracts, reviews, and correspondence (with editors, coauthors, and colleagues). The two largest files are on The Distribution of Personal Wealth in Britain and Inequality: What Can Be Done?. The former was written with Alan Harrison primarily using data from the Inland Revenue, and there are many oversize printouts of data. The latter was the final book that Atkinson completed and the culmination of his life's work on the subject; the amount of correspondence, reviews, and press clippings indicate that it received a great deal of attention. Arranged alphabetically by published title, but one unpublished work is present.
