- Extent:
- 48 boxes
- Scope and content:
-
A large collection of research and production files for all of Frank Baker's writings, published and unpublished. A subseries for monographs is arranged by the bibliography numbers established by Elizabeth Hart in her volume on the works of Baker, also included in the first box of the subseries. Files contain correspondence; notes; clippings; printed material such as pamphlets, maps, histories, and reprints; publicity; drafts and proofs; and research for each of the works. Note that early dates often represent reproductions, not originals. A separate subseries houses the research files for Baker's thesis, later published in book form, on William Grimshaw, Methodist minister, and religion in 18th century England. Also includes a subseries of unpublished and unfinished works, and a subseries of writings by other individuals collected by or sent to Baker.
