Lackow Family Materials, 1925-1999

Scope and content:

These materials document the Lackow family, chiefly Pauline Bart's mother, Mildred Lackow (1902-1997). Lackow wrote a lengthy unpublished memoir that begins in 1915 and ends in the 1980s. It describes growing up on a Russian shtetl, living through WWI, emigrating to the U.S., settling in Brooklyn, and raising her family. Also included in these materials are personal and business correspondence, travel diaries, and research on current events, Watergate, and the Holocaust.
