Printed on front: 424. Family Group of Sioux and Lodge. Copyrighted 1899, by T. W. Ingersoll. Printed on back: Lengthy narrative about the size of Native American families and social customs relating to gender. Stereocard, printed in color, of two women, one seated outside with three children, one looking out from the lodge flap.

Biographical / historical:
Truman Ward Ingersoll (b. 1862) was a St. Paul, Minnesota photographer active from the 1880s to his retirement in 1909. His photographic work was well-known and many of his stereocards were commercially available in the Sears catalog.
