Donated by Alex Byrd, a Behind the Veil staff member, these slides are images of family portraits and snapshots, chiefly black-and-white, ranging from the late 19th century to the late 20th century. There are images of photograph album pages as well as single photographs, a few documents, and a handful of contemporary color snapshots of people, cemeteries, and family homes. Some individuals are in military uniform. People and locations are mostly unidentified, although the main geographical location is Kentucky. Some images are of the covers of ledgers, journals, and school composition books dating as late as 1972. Date range for the set was assigned by library staff and is approximate.
