Physical description:
196 slides
Scope and content:

These slides were created by Behind the Veil staff, and are grouped into themed series either based on topical themes or were reproduced from publications on African American history and culture. The images, almost all black-and-white photographs, date from about the late 19th to mid-20th century, and span a constellation of topics which include work, leisure, violence, and civil rights movements. The function of these themed sets is unclear but they may have been used in Behind the Veil staff training workshops and seminars. The subseries dates reflect the time range when the slides were created by the staff, rather than the content.
