Extent:
1.7 Linear Feet (6 folders; 41 audiocassettes; 7 videocassettes)
12 Megabytes (411 files)
Scope and content:

Materials in this subseries are chiefly associated with teaching and training activities at the Behind the Veil (BTV) offices. There are many materials, including many audio recordings, from the Jim Crow Project Summer Institute, a conference held at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke on African American history and the importance of documenting that history through research, writing, and documentary projects like BTV. There are also some files on conferences and events held elsewhere. There are few records relating to Behind the Veil administrative meetings; these may be in the General Administrate Files series. Formats consist of paper and electronic records such as correspondence, planning notes, syllabi, agendas, and readings. The series also includes recordings on audiocassettes and videos. The function of some of the videos listed was not documented; they may have been used in BTV workshops and classrooms. Photographs taken in classrooms during workshops and instruction, as well as photographs taken during interview site training are listed in the Project Records series under the Photographs, Slides, and Image Files subseries.
