Biographical / historical:

Beir Bros. was a department store located in Niagara Falls, N.Y., opened by Edwin Beir around 1891 and continued in operation until it closed in 1986.

Beir Bros. was founded by Edwin Beir upon his arrival in Niagara Falls in 1891. After Edwin's death the store passed to Isaac Beir; it was incorporated in 1939 as Beir Bros., Inc. in 1939, and in 1948 the store was sold to Douglas Grant, a businessman from Utica, N.Y. During urban renewal in Niagara Falls, Beir Bros. moved to anchor the Rainbow Centre Mall in 1982 under the name of Beir's, but went out of business a few years later in 1986.
