Contains drafts, revisions, mock-ups, outlines, correspondence, clippings, articles, notes, and other assorted materials related to The Turkey Shoot: Tracking the Attica Cover-Up (1985, published by Grove Press) and The Attica Turkey Shoot: Carnage, Cover-Up, and the Pursuit of Justice (2017, published by Simon and Schuster), otherwise referred to as The Turkey Shoot. Materials cover Bell's drafts and revisions to both editions with annotations by him; alongside numerous correspondence with his publishers; friends and colleagues advising Bell on drafts and publication strategies; readers, including former or current prison inmates; inquiries into a film version; and efforts in publication and outreach, including various rejections.
