Scope and content:

This series contains subject files, photographs, and personal materials relating to Bengis and her work. Includes immigration documents, Fulbright application documents and related materials, materials pertaining to her step-son Pavel and husband, Edouard Palei, and files pertaining to her parents, Lew and Maria Bengis. Also contains legal documents relating to her 2003 court case against her subletter in her New York City apartment and other property-related matters, including insurance claims and leases. Also contains folders compiled and titled by Bengis, which contain a variety of materials, including ephemera and correspondence. Also contains translation rights and publication contracts for her books literary agent information.
