- Scope and content:
-
Martha, Matthew and Charlie thank Carol for her kindness and hospitality during their recent visit. Carol thinks Tori bears a striking resemblance to her grandmother Hazel Valette Carr Lake. She posts a photo of her mother at age 14, and another of her mother, grandmother, great aunt, aunt and cousin visiting Lake Hopatcong. Carol recounts the various awards her grandchildren receive in academics and sports activities. Tori graduates from Tinton Falls Middle School. She is one of four top scholars in a class of 150. She received the "John M. Kline Excellence in Writing Award" and the "Barry Lehman Humanitarian Award." Floyd speaks at William's Westminster Under School class and recounts his education at Yale, his business career and a brief sabbatical into the world of songwriting and recording. Tori's poem "Fire" wins in the Wordworth Poetry festival. Floyd and the kids visit in July. Melissa wears the "bug" costume made by Carol's grandmother in 1928. After the Yankees game they leave for Wyoming to meet Martha and her boys for a week repeating their fun time the year before in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
