Informal group portrait. Grant is standing at left, facing the other men, who are seated, scattered along a cliff to Grant's right. The cliff is surrounded by trees and there is a wooden building in the distance. Emulsion-paper print from a Brady negative, late-19th or early-20th century. May have been produced for purchase as souvenir. Subjects are, left to right: Grant; Gen. J. A. Rawlins (seated, with back against tree); Gen. Joseph Dana Webster behind him; Col. Clark B. Lagow leaning against tree; and Col. William S. Hillyer in right foreground; an orderly seated at rear. Photograph #16 in this collection is identical to this photograph; however, it is lighter and more faded.
