Scope and content:

The Cylinders and Discs series collects together two groups of recordings. The first includes the media Brown recorded in the field, and consists of wax cylinders, aluminum discs, and lacquer-coated discs. The second group includes glass lacquer preservation copies made by the Library of Congress, from Brown's originals, in the early 1940s; among these is a set of five discs featuring Bascom Lamar Lunsford, which have been digitized.
