Correspondence between Beverly Buchanan and Courtney Reid-Eaton, 2001-2002

Contains a Christmas card ("Joy" with Buchanan's signature and a photograph of Painted Cans, 2001), an undated note, and two typed letters with their single envelope postmarked in January 2002. One letter, dated 2001 October 4 and titled "Uneventful Field Trip" describes Buchanan's trip to Elder Bridge Road off Rte. 15 to photograph a structure. Another letter, dated Christmas Day 2001 and titled "Thoughts while waitning [sic] for lunch" includes Buchanan's reflections on her photography and her family: "I'm identifying more and more with the often (not always) abandoned old houses of my photographs. I deliberately seek out the-by themselves [sic] structures. I am becoming more like them!" She also discusses her husband ("my artwork is my husband") and her father, Walter Buchanan. The undated note appears to have been tucked into the envelope and has a postscript from Buchanan with an update on her poor health: "I'm not progressing as fast as I would like."
