This large set of files represents the collaborations between Alan McGregor, CJPC, and three other organizations that were also advocating against the death penalty and for prison reform: North Carolinians Against the Death Penalty (NCADP), the North Carolina Prisoners' Labor Union (NCPLU), and the Southern Coalition on Jails and Prisons (SCJP).
Contents range widely and include: newsletters; correspondence (with other entities and incarcerated people); mailing lists; newspaper clippings; administrative files; research on individual cases; articles; press statements; death penalty statutes in NC and other states; and meeting minutes. There is also a folder containing several pieces of original artwork for the NCPLU newsletter, photos of a production called "Lone Vigil" (approximately 1984-1989) and rallies in the NCADP files, and an oversized list of NCADP county contacts (separated for preservation purposes).
