Biographical / historical:

CBS is an American commercial broadcast television and radio network that grew out of a Chicago-based radio network in the late 1920s. As of 2022 it is the flagship property of the CBS Entertainment Group division of Paramount Global. In the 1930s CBS produced reports about trends in radio broadcasting and advertising.

The 1930s were part of the "golden age of radio," a period of time in the United States when radios were the dominant electronic home entertainment medium. This period lasted until the 1950s, when the television eventually overtook the popularity of radio.
