The Conference on Historical Analysis and Research in Marketing is an international scholarly organization primarily focused on organizing biennial conferences and related publishing activities. It grew out of the North American Workshop on Historical Research in Marketing, first held at Michigan State University in 1983 and expanded over time to include international scholarship. The organization has gone through a number of name changes: Conference on Historical Research in Marketing (1987); Conference on Historical Research in Marketing and Marketing Thought (1990s); before adopting its present name after the 1997 meeting.
