Biographical / historical:

Steve Climons is a Black advertising executive and founder of Crossover Creative agency based in Elk Grove, Calif.

Steve Climons was born in Oakland, Calif. in 1950. He attended Merritt College and the California College of the Arts (BFA, 1975). After college Climons worked at several New York advertising agencies (DAncer Fitzgerald Sample, Uniworld Group, Lowe Marschalk) before returning to California to open his own agency, Steve Climons Creative Services (SCCS) in 1989. SCCS was reformed as Crossover Creative Group in 1996 and renamed Crossover Creative in 2013, relocating to Elk Grove. At Crossover Creative, Climons currently holds the title of Brand Developer.

Acquisition information:
The Steve Climons papers were received by the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book Manuscript Library as a purchase from Abe Books in 2021 and a gift from Steve Climons in 2023.
