Scope and content:

The Writings series includes conference papers and other articles by Cook; his research on Benjamin E. Mays, former president of Morehouse College; and a set of articles by others, edited by Cook, celebrating Mays. These articles were published in 2009 as "Benjamin E. Mays: His Life, Contributions, and Legacy". Articles and essays by Cook discuss black education, the civil rights movement, black power, and desegregation; he also writes about the lives and legacies of Benjamin E. Mays and Reinhold Niebuhr.
