Includes fragment of a letter written approximately in the 1880s regarding the Cherokee Industrial school at Trinity College. The letter begins "The faculty have requested me to inform you that they regard the contract President Craven made with the Government of U.S. for the education of twenty Cherokee boys was a contract between Trinity College and the Gov. and therefore these Cherokee boys should be under the entire management of the college."
