The Activist Work series contains printed material, correspondence, documents concerning travel engagements, and media coverage of Creech's efforts as an activist during his time as an ordained minister and following the removal of his credentials of ordination. Series contains two subseries, Engagements and RRNGLE (Raleigh Religious Network for Gay and Lesbian Equality). Series comprises Creech's original files which tend to be both subject files as well his personal files about the organizations and projects he worked with. The series covers his advocacy for LGBT rights, primarily marriage equality and making faith communities welcoming to LGBT-identified congregants. Files contain his work to found and guide several organizations to support LGBT people of faith, namely Faith in America and Soulforce. Also included is correspondence with other religious LGBT activists, articles and clippings, and printed material. Series contains files related to his work against the death penalty. Creech had pastoral relationships with death row inmates in North Carolina.
