This series contains photographs of the Dawson family, friends and acquaintances and associated places, as well as photographs collected as a part of Warrington Dawson's research.
Photographs of family, friends, and historic characters include: many images of the novelist Joseph (Korzenioski) Conrad, Jessie Conrad, and family; Warrington Dawson and Sarah Dawson; Ethel (Dawson) Barry and Herbert Barry; Frank Dawson; Daniel H. Chamberlain (Reconstruction governor of South Carolina); François Millet; Woodrow Wilson; Archibald Forbes; Lord Windsor; the Chateau de Josselin (signed by the Duke and Duchess de Rohan).
There are also images of historical monuments and their inscriptions in Virginia, a series of photographs of the Charleston earthquake, and locations in France, including Warrington Dawson's Versailles apartment.
