Scope and content:

Financial records, which reflect the personal, business, and philanthropic interests of Benjamin. Includes bills, invoices, and receipts; charitable contributions; check stubs; account, brokerage, and tax statements; stock transactions; trial balances; household and petty cash accounts; and correspondence. A smaller amount of financial records for James B. Duke include account statements and correspondence on the Southern Investment Company of Canada and scattered, miscellaneous statements.

Benjamin's financial ledgers and official bookkeeping responsibilities were transferred from his Durham office to his NY office in May 1901.
