Scope and content:

Legal records, primarily related to property transactions in Orange County and Durham, NC by Benjamin and others. Deeds dating from 1838 show changes of ownership of land that he eventually purchased. Also includes architectural contracts, plans, and specifications; trust indentures; a legal brief; copies of the wills of Benjamin, Sarah P. Duke, and Washington Duke; and estate records for Benjamin.

Arranged alphabetically by location, followed by individuals and organizations.
