Personal material that belonged to Benjamin or an immediate family member. Includes a diary and recipes from Sarah P. Duke; genealogical material; honorary degrees; a suit pattern; seven pieces of jewelry; a scrapbook of condolences sent to the Duke family upon his death; and other material related to funerals, memorials, and tributes to him, Sarah, James B. Duke, and Angier Buchanan Duke. Also includes printed material, such as three Bibles, a cookbook, poetry volumes, and pamphlets and resolutions related to his philanthropic activities.
