Scrapbook titled "St. Kittiana: Letters to various St. Kitts' Papers by George Estridge, 1832-1860. Photographs taken 1896. Collected by H.W.E." Volume with assorted newspaper articles and columns from St. Kitts' newspapers, dating 1832-1860, some identified as authored by George Estridge, and others with no identified author. Topics include agricultural reports, plantation worker riots, economic prospects of St. Kitts (also known as St. Christopher), literature, poetry, and society news. Volume also includes photographs, some printed and some on photographic paper, featuring St. Kitts landscapes, Basseterre, lepers and local people, and other landmarks on the island. Finally, there are two newspaper clippings laid in from The Queen, The Lady's Newspaper, with columns about Caribbean life dated from 1900 and 1901.
