Arranged in the following subseries: Letterbooks; Local Histories; Albums and Scrapbooks; and Writings and Addresses. The volumes are chiefly manuscripts, and take the form of letterbooks, diaries and journals, scrapbooks, notebooks, record books, and albums. The contents can include autographs; correspondence; memoirs; essays; photographs; engravings; ephemera such as Christams cards, tickets, and stamps; maps; clippings; notes; sermons; histories; and church records. The latter category includes Methodist church account and roll books, circuit schedules, year-by-year histories and journals of various chapels, meeting minutes, and Sunday School rolls. Subseries are arranged alphabetically. Some items are in short-hand. A sample of Wesley's own short-hand from one of his journal entries (1740) is included in an information folder in box WF1, along with illustrations of Society Tickets.
