TRT: 80:00A tribute to the resiliency of childhood and the power of art, this film is a portrait of several children who live in Calcutta's red light district where their mothers work as prostitutes. Briski gives each child a camera and teaches them how to take pictures, nurturing their powers of observation, while trying to help them escape a grim future. The children eagerly photograph the people and places in their neighborhoods, defying the tear-stained tourist snapshot of the global underbelly.
