This film tells the long suppressed story of the GI movement to end the war in Vietnam. Contrary to the popular image of long-haired hippies spitting on returning soldiers, this account vividly demonstrates that GIs, for whom it was a life-and-death issue, were at the heart of the anti-war movement. Narrated by veteran GI resisters recalling peace marches and stiff jail sentences, it deals with racial politics, class and personal responsibility, challenging us to re-examine our received history of the Vietnam War.
