Contains footage captured by Gamble in Tientsin, 1926-1928, 1931; in Peking and Paoting, 1926-1927, 1931; and footage from Miao Feng Shan, 1926-1928, and Shanghai, 1929. The footage was transferred from 16mm film reels to VHS and depicts urban and rural life, focusing on a variety of craftsman and farmers using the tools of their trade. Of interest is footage of martial arts demonstrations, celebrations related to the Mass Education Movement, street parades, and irrigation techniques. Also included are later productions reflecting on Gamble's life and work.
