Contains contracts for the hiring out of enslaved persons and a contract of indentured servitude. Records include:

• 1808 April: bond of indentured servitude of John, a free seventeen-year-old boy, to John Garver

• 1835 December 28: bond for the hire of Alfred, enslaved by the heirs of Bacon Burwell, to William Sorrell and Abraham V. Gonell

• 1836 December 27: bond for the hire of Rebecca and her two children and Finetta [?], enslaved by Francis Silver, to W. Jefferson

• 1848 January: bond for the hire of Nancy, enslaved by Amelia Eichelberg, to Levi Henshaw

• 1848 June 12: bond for the hire of Abe, enslaved by Roberty Bryaryly [?], to Levi Henshaw

• 1849 December 27: note for the hiring of Nat, enslaved by Francis Yate, to George W. Henshaw and brothers

• 1851 December 27: bond for the hire of Thomas, enslaved by Philip D. C. Jones, to Levi Henshaw and Cornelius Comegys

• 1851 December 31: note for the hiring of Alfred, enslaved by the Burwell family, to Levi Henshaw and Sam D. Rees

• 1852 December 27: bond for the hire of Alfred, enslaved by John Boyd, to Levi Henshaw

• 1853 December 15: bond for the hire of Mariah, enslaved by Zephaniah Silver, to Levi Henshaw

• 1854 December 19: bond for the hire of Jack, enslaved by John C. McClure, to Levi Henshaw

• 1854: note for the hiring of John, enslaved by John G. Myers, to Levi Henshaw
