Includes records of the hiring out and purchase of enslaved persons:

• 1834 January 1: note for the hire of Han, enslaved by Abrahim Gorrell, to John Van Metre

• 1834 December 27: note for the hire of Carter, enslaved by H. S. G. Tucker, to William Gorrell

• 1834 December 27: note for the hire of Jim, enslaved by Henry S. G. Tucker, to William Gorrell

• 1835 December 23: bill of sale for Ailsey, about fifteen years old, sold by Isaac(?) S. Lands to William Gorrell

• 1836 December 29: bond for the hire of Silas from the heirs of Bacon Burwell to Abraham and William Gorrell

• 1836 December 20: bond for the hire of Jim, enslaved by Henry H. Geo Tucker, to William B. Gorrell and Isaac Burns

• 1842 December 12: receipt of the sale of two enslaved persons, payment to John Matthews
