Financial and Legal Papers, 1963-1989, bulk 1984-1989
- Scope and content:
-
In these files one can find various records regarding Gedney's teaching appointments at Pratt and Cooper Union; his health insurance and pension; auto expenses; income taxes; his last will and testament; and the purchase of a house on Staten Island in 1984. There are also memo books detailing expenses for the years 1987 to 1989, chronicling routine expenditures and his last years struggling with his HIV-positive diagnosis and associated illnesses. Files are arranged in alphabetical order by folder title. Most of the titles are original.
Other financial records can often be found in travel-related memo books in the Writings and Notebooks, and in the Grant and Work Files series; references to the sales of Gedney's prints can be found in the Correspondence.
