Kentucky, 1972 Summer

Scope and content:

Gedney returned to visit the Cornett family in Eastern Kentucky again in the summer of 1972, staying for over two weeks and documenting the changes in the family members and in their circumstances. Much like in 1964, the images portray Willie, Vivian, and their now grown children going about their daily tasks and leisure actitivies; however, they now lived in a newer house and some of the children were married and had their own children. As before, Gedney's time with the family is documented in notebooks in the Writings and Notebooks Series, and there are several letters following his visit, found in the Correspondence Series.
