Writings about Romania

Scope and content:

Georgescu-Roegen's longstanding interest in Romania and his intention to publish scholarly work about the region is documented in this subseries. Materials have been divided based on what appears to be two separate projects: one monograph on the Basarabian region, and one on the history of Romanian peasantry. There is substantial overlap between these books, and it appears that his projects evolved over time. Unfortunately the drafts are largely undated. Also represented here is his work as an editor and contributor to the Mid-European Studies Center, which intended to publish resources on Romania in the 1950s.
