Scope and content:

This Series includes writings by Gurganus, and are arranged into the subseries Books, Novellas and Articles; and Addresses and Speeches. The Books subseries is composed chiefly of manuscripts, drafts, typescripts, and proofs of Gurganus's novels, novellas, essays, and articles with the author's notations and revisions, and provides a thorough representation of the development of each. The Uncollected Works subseries contains drafts, copies, proofs, and published works not included in Gurganus's books and novellas. Transcripts of his speeches appear in the Addresses and Speeches subseries.
