This portfolio consists of 21 gelatin silver prints of African American and white older people living on their own in the central North Carolina Piedmont communities of Durham, Cedar Grove, and other places. The commissioned project provided documentary images for a study by Robert Coles, published in book form as Old and On Their Own (1997). Prints measure 11 x 14 inches and are matted. Printed in 1992. Titles created by the photographer.
