This subseries chronicles Heschel's involvement in and the support of mobilizing the American Jewish community in addressing the plight of Soviet Jews. Of particular interest are the materials focusing on criticism and subsequent support of Heschel's address to the convention of The Rabbinical Assembly in Toronto where he admonished the leaders of Jewish Organizations for their inadequacy of protest against the problems faced by Soviet Jews. Materials in this subseries include correspondence, bulletins, handwritten notes, clippings, programs, typescripts, and addresses.
