This subseries primarily consists of Heschel's handwritten notes, but also includes typescript notes, paper fragments, notecards, clippings, and library call slips from various institutions. The notes are miscellaneous in nature, meaning they cannot be easily identified as being related to any of Heschel's books, articles, addresses, lectures, or speeches. The topics are broad and vary widely but are generally theological in nature, giving insight to his identity as a spiritual leader and religious thinker. The materials are arranged chronologically. The undated materials are organized alphabetically.
