Subject Files Subseries, 1977-2000 and undated

Scope and content:

One of the largest subseries. Includes informational materials on abortion and other health issues, research files from clinic studies and patient surveys, and records of the clinic's involvement in various projects and organizations. There is a significant amount of material on the Choices East (Moscow) project, Hoffman's unsuccessful attempt to establish a women's health clinic in Moscow in the early 1990s. A small portion of the Choices East files are in Russian.

The subseries is subdivided into Abortion, Choices East, Patient Information, Research, and General Subject Files. Within each section, files are organized alphabetically. The Abortion files also document staff involvement in the National Coalition of Abortion Providers, the National Abortion Federation, and other pro-choice organizations. See the Oversize Material for additional Research files.
