Scope and content:

Seven almanacs with medical recipes, advice, and endorsements. Items include: Dr. J. H. McLean's Family Almanac (1871), Hoofland's Almanac and Family Receipt Book for Everybody's Use (1873), Lawson's Curative Family Almanac (1879), Dr. Miles New Weather Almanac and Hand Book of Valuable Information (1919), Swamp-Root Almanac (1921), The Ladies Birthday Alamanac (1924), and Dr. D. Jayne's Medical Almanac and Guide to Health (1924). The covers of the Swamp-Root Almanac (1921) and The Ladies Birthday Almanac (1924) make use of Indigenous imagery, including illustrations of Indigenous people, clothing, and teepees.
