Scope and content:

Includes drafts, manuscripts, off-prints, and correspondence related to Hurwicz's published work. Topics include econometrics, general equilibrium analysis, information economics, dynamic analysis, resource allocation, work on centralized and decentralized systems, incentive problems, mechanism design, the theory of institutions, welfare economics, and the problem of externalities.

Several collaborations have been placed in their own subseries, as Hurwicz led major projects with long-term coauthors, including Kenneth Arrow, Roy Radner, Stanley Reiter, Marcel Richter, and Hirofumi Uzawa. The final and largest subseries gathers the articles, book chapters, and other manuscripts authored or coauthored by Hurwicz. Many, but not all, of the manuscripts in this series have been published. Some notes that could not be classified have been moved to the Research and Notes series.
